Seven thangs meme

John tagged me with a meme. Probably a good thing, too, since I’d otherwise bitch about work. Rule: list seven random or weird things about yourself.
- I exhibit a near-fanatical drive to spend as little money as possible with the airlines. I will spend hours — hours – working connections and exploiting nuances of the transportation system to balance low ticket prices with minimizing my travel discomfort. I have also used this latent, minor power to arrange interesting weekend stay-overs under the guise of “saving my employer money.” Best three: New York City, Copenhagen, Amsterdam.
- I need a lot of quiet time to myself to recharge. This is sometimes perceived as being anti-social. It’s just who I am.
- An ideal evening out with a friend: wandering a bookstore, crafting contraptions out of Legos/Erector sets, or taking a cooking class.
- I’ve been unsuccessful at growing a beard, limited by my inability to get past the first weeks of severe itchiness. But if I had one, it would be salt and pepper.
- My preferential vacation is either extreme: physically grueling or total beach potato.
- I have been told by several people for whom I’ve provided customized sarcasm that I ought to consider abandoning high tech to write comedy. I’d prefer to think of this as a flattering comment on my wit and not so much an insinuation that I lack technical acumen.
- If I won the lottery — which is unlikely, especially since I only play it when the prize is over $100,000,000 UNITED STATES DOLLARS (or 58.30 Euro) — I’d indulge my inner-geek. I would remain frugal about airlines.
