Bull words
El Jefe sent me a very serious note about “an interesting technology, PC over IP.” He then launched into concerns about people using this to circumvent our licensing. As if constant requests for demo keys, outright hacking or key generators wouldn’t have occurred first. (He has nothing better to do… like managing his department or working on hard technology issues.)

Anyway, the technology company uses all of the classic Gartner techniques to describe themselves (except the magic quadrant — which I’ve provided above). They appeal to the budget-conscious chief officer types, describing their offering as important for CIOs working on “Pandemic Strategy Enablement.” I nearly wet myself at the absurdity of the name. It’s pure marketing bleshit, as in “flexible” “reliable” “scalable” and other ble-words. They sound great, but mean nothing.
Rest easy that if we’re all dropping dead from bird flu, the servers Total Cost of Ownership will be even more insignificant-able
