The attention-challenged El Jefe scheduled a lunchtime, web seminar on

I’m unsure why he chose to host this in the company break room… perhaps to maximize the inconvenience to the rest of the company by making us find alternate accommodations for “Free Lunch Friday?”

He asked me if he could borrow a laptop. I declined. What, do I look like, the loaner laptop fairy? (The sadder reality: it’s the token, recurring budget request that gets turned down.) He found one, but not before I asked him why he didn’t just use the large conference room. Not only did it have a computer and external display for presentations, it was also available.

No answer. Logic, sarcasm and common sense are beyond his mental capacities.

Before the presentation was gearing up, I saw the QA manager telling his people attendance was optional because El Jefe decreed that hourly people weren’t going to be paid to attend (!!).
