El Jefe has left the building

Cliff sent out the note around 5:45pm:
“I have decided to let El Jefe go. [...]“
Cliff sent another email to all the engineers asking to meet on Monday. He is understandably worried that there will be disruption with us being a mere month away from a major product release. I sent a short note assuring him it’s gonna be fine. I would have liked to just tell him outright “the team will be more productive without El Jefe.”
While I feel a little sorry for him, I am mostly feeling a sense of relief.
